Admit it – you knew these 5 places were creepy too

Halloween may have been and gone, but spooky activity at these spots shows no sign of slowing down.

The Nutshell, Bury St Edmunds
It might be the smallest pub in Britain, but The Nutshell is still spacious enough for a couple of ghostly visitors – not least a young boy said to have been murdered in the building. He’s normally seen by the stairs at closing time, so bear that in mind if you’ve had a few pints.

The Buttermarket, Ipswich
Your much-loved local shopping centre was previously home to Whitefriars Monastery. Employees nowadays report ghostly footsteps and an old monk stumbling around the building – but don’t let that put you off your TK Maxx spree.

Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich
Admittedly this place probably already gave you the heebie jeebies. We’ve heard rumours of a Victorian woman wandering the corridors during the 1990s.

Dunwich
The former capital of Suffolk was lost to the sea during the 16th century – perhaps explaining the sound of church bells that can sometimes be heard from underwater.

Roos Hall, Beccles
Easily one of the most haunted spots in England (if you believe in that sort of thing). The listed building has the ‘devil’s footprint’ scorched on one of its walls, and a headless horseman roaming the grounds. Nice.
